Composition - Gateway Vol. 7
Editor in Chief, 2021-2023
Our
Story
As the Editor in Chief of Taipei American School's 7th Yearbook volume, I had the special opportunity to design the theme of our yearbook. Inspired by the classic appearance of elementary school composition books, I aimed to reflect something deeper than just a nostalgic aesthetic. The concept of "composition" extends beyond its literal meaning: it symbolizes the composition of our diverse experiences, backgrounds, identities, and the broader school community. This theme was chosen because it mirrors the essence of what our yearbook strives to capture: a comprehensive collection of individual stories that, together, form a unified narrative of our time at Taipei American School.
Even though I held the title of Editor in Chief, my role extended far beyond overseeing the editorial process. I also took on the responsibilities of a photographer and videographer, capturing moments and stories as they unfolded throughout the year. Beyond these roles, I served as a leader to all members involved with the yearbook, including students and staff. I aimed to guide our team in creating a yearbook that not only told our stories through words but also pictures and videos through social media that bring these stories to life.
